The total number of international PCT patent applications increased by 4.19% From 10,578 applications in 2023 to 11,021 in 2024 CATL and LG continue their dominance of PCT publications in 2024, with 12.6% and 11.6% share of total, respectively Notable increases in publications for EVE and Hithium in 2024. Hithium particularly notable due to their remarkable growth from a negligible number in 2023 to a significant share in 2024. Hithium now ranks just outside the top 5 battery applicants. Bosch is the only non-Asian company in the top 10 applicants for both years
