Lithium | Mining: Time To Market
Lithium | Mining: Time To Market
Time model of starting a new mining/refining plant at the beginning of 2024 Starting a mine today to meet 2030 CAGR demand of batteries is time prohibitive, given all the steps needed to bring on a site and qualify a new material. Worst case is 31 years to start a new mine from scratch; 16 years at best, unless new technologies such as Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) come to fruition in the near future. DLE would expand existing production of many brines while also allowing for quicker onboarding of new brines.
