Relative Cost Of Fast Public Charging Compared To Gasoline

Most EV drivers today rely heavily on home charging, which is typically 2060% cheaper than gasoline on a per-kilometer-driven basis and use of dedicated EV home charging tariffs can extend savings.

But public fast-charging prices have risen sharply since 2022 in many markets in Europe and the US, pushing costs per kilometer above gasoline and likely discouraging some consumers from switching to EVs. Relative refueling costs are likely to have a growing impact on EV adoption over time. Source: Content & analysis provided by BloombergNEF Distinguished Partner).
