Heavy Mobility Key Players - Battery Solutions & Partnerships
In 2025, Heavy Truck EV batteries averaged 358 kWh, Medium Trucks averaged 146 kWh, and Heavy Bus averaged 252 kWh. LFP is the dominant chemistry as OEMs prioritise cycle life and cost. Technology development will see battery life extending to over 1.6M miles, comparable with diesel engine vehicles. CATL dominates the global market, and announced its new TECTRANS LFP battery in 2024, estimated its share at 71% in 2025 at its capital raising. Other significant suppliers including Samsung SDI, Gotion and EVE. A slow down in the US e-truck market has seen the planned 2027 SOP for the JV between Daimler Truck, Paccar, Accelera and EVE, Amplify Cell Technologies delayed until 2028/2029. Battery swapping share in China share reached above 30% in early 2025, and expected to be stable in the near future
