Warranties & Performance Guarantees BESS warranties and performance guarantees have become more standardized across the industry, and are a requirement for BESS Product warranty (usually between 2 and 5 years)
Covers defects in materials, workmanship, and serial defects in initial years of operation
Typically included in both the Battery Supply Agreement, and also in the EPC agreement (whether turnkey or balance-of-plant) Performance warranty / guarantees (from 10 to 25 years) - tied to extended product warranty
Energy Capacity Degradation, round-trip efficiency RTE, and Availability are the key terms, typically covered in a Long Term Service Agreement LTSA Tied to strict operating conditions that needs to be fully understood. Important to have flexible performance warranties that reflect operational behavior
