Long-Term Service Agreements LTSA) for BESS The LTSA is an agreement between the Project and battery supplier for long-term performance guarantee PG, preventative and corrective maintenance. LTSA terms have begun to be aligned across major suppliers:

20-year term common, 25-year is now frequently offered

Performance guarantees tend to include:

25-year degradation guarantee to 6070% SOH based on 1 cycle per day

Up to 2 cycles per day (provided annual maximum not exceeded)

20- to 25-year Round-trip efficiency guarantees from 88% at Beginning of Life (at POI) to 82% at End of Life

9698% Availability Guarantee (after discounting preventative maintenance)

Leading LTSAs tend to not place any requirements on State-of-Charge SOC, while lower-tier suppliers may place limits on average SOC

Most suppliers have moved away from warranty adjusters based on temperature; as long as the system is within the allowable ambient temperature range, it can be operated

Most key terms in LTSA have corresponding liquidated damages clauses
