Research Trends

Electrolyte, Safety, Anode and Cathode Are the Most Published Topics Electrolyte, safety, anode, and cathode are the most published topics. Scientific publications on battery electrolytes increasingly focus on solid-state and gel systems, as well as high-voltage formulations achieved by tuning solvents, salts, and additives.

SCIENTIFIC PUBLICATIONS SPLIT BY BATTERY COMPONENTS

A notable acceleration is observed for publications related to safety, battery management systems BMS, thermal/fire management, recycling, and binders between 2024 and 2025. In contrast, research activity on other components such as the electrolyte, anode, cathode, and separator remains relatively stable. Developments on binders are driven by new PFAS regulations and the pursuit of greener electrode manufacturing, focusing on dry processes and non-PFAS binder alternatives.
